Coated Steel Products Ltd (“we”, “us”) operates this trade customer portal and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Account and contact details: your company name, contact name, email address, phone number and delivery/site addresses.

Trade-account information you provide, such as the details on your credit application and any credit limit agreed.

Your activity on the portal: the quotes you build, orders you place, delivery preferences and any references or notes you add.

Files you choose to upload — for example a competitor’s quote for a price match, or a photo/sketch for a bespoke flashing.

Technical data needed to run the service securely, such as your login session.

To set up and run your trade account, prepare quotes, and process and deliver your orders — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.

To assess and manage credit where you ask to trade on account — our legitimate interest in managing credit risk, and to take steps to enter into a contract.

To keep proper business and accounting records, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

To contact you about your quotes, orders and account. We only send service messages relating to your account; we do not send marketing without your consent.

We do not sell your data. We share it only where needed to run the service or meet our obligations:

Trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — our hosting provider (Netlify), our database and authentication provider (Supabase, hosted in the UK/EU), our email provider (Resend), and our privacy-friendly, cookieless website-analytics provider (Cloudflare), which gives us aggregate visitor counts without tracking you across sites.

Delivery carriers, so your order can be delivered.

Our professional advisers, and authorities such as HMRC, where the law requires it.

We keep your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet our legal and accounting obligations (financial records are normally kept for six years). Files you upload for a price match or bespoke enquiry are kept only as long as needed to handle that enquiry.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it if it is wrong, to ask us to delete or restrict it, to object to certain uses, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
